Plastic mold for inside the back of a pickup truck

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is there anywhere that makes a mold for these plastic covers that sit inside the back of pickup trucks? I have a Mazda Fighter that is 14 years old and would like to purchase/get one made.

All input welcome.

From another post of the OP 'Does anybody know where there is a garage around the Chanthaburi/Trat area of Thailand that does this?'.

There are many outlets for various manufacturers of those liners.

Try to find, in your area/neighourhood a garage or accessory-shop dealing and installing those liners.

My shop in Khon Kaen tells me the mazda fighter type might still be available.

Might.

Because there are three sizes available, the biggest one for a 2-door truck is the best selling, so most available generally, but less available in a rural area.

But ask around, price around 5000-6000 baht.

And if not available in your local dealer, ask him to give the manufacturer(s) a call.

Thanks for all the replys. So I am in the Trat / Chanthaburi area.

I am glad to read that there are many manufacturers of these liners as i was told by the owner of an accessory shop that my vehicle was too old and would not be able to purchase one. I will check with Mazda to see if they make them and then if not, look around for someone to make it.

Thanks for the advice hansnl. Much appreciated.

If anybody knows of anywhere in Trat or Chanthaburi, that would be great.

FYI, I have been put in contact with a company called Max Liner http://www.maxliner.com/ . They have quoted me 4900THB for the liner that lips over the end, and comes with brackets on hinges for tying things down.

Cheers

You may try the second hand liner...

BTW,my Maxliner had cost me 3800 installed from Ford dealer (after some negotiations of course)wink.png

Where do you recommend i get a second hand liner from? I am in the Trat/Chanthaburi area. I have ordered my Max liner, but no money has exchanged hands yet.

Probably the best place to get a second hand liner is from one of the shops that change the bed for a tray.

You will see these tyoe of shops along main roads and they are easy to spot as they have the beds that they have removed stacked up outside of their shop.

Also a shop with used canopies outside the front may have a liner that they have removed when removing the canopy from the original vehicle.

There are 2 main manufacturers of bed liners in Thailand, which are as such:

Maxliner - www.maxliner.com

Aeroliner (Aeroklass) - www.aeroklas.com

Thai Summit also make bed liners under the brand name of ‘Besto liners’ but as they are new to manufacturing this product they only have a few models available.

In my opinion, the best type of liner to buy is an under rail liner.

The over rail liners do look good but if at a later time you want to fit an accessory onto the bed, such as a canopy, tonneau cover, roll bars, etc., the over rail impedes a perfect fit and may also need to be cut to allow for fitting clamps.
