New Golf Courses

My husband and I are tired of the same ol' golf courses. Does anyone know of some that may not be as well used? Not too expensive, please.

hundreds of courses all around Thailand.

Indication of prices,course lay out, route map and so on.

I also like variety and crossing each course that we ( my wife and I) played.

So far we concentrated the activities around Korat and Bangkok.

As you're in the Chiang Mai Forum I assume you mean near Chiang Mai.

Sand Creek (I think it's called) behind San Kampaeng. Drive from Chiang Mai and enter San Kampaeng on the old road. Turn left at the side of the Police Station (?) or is it the Ampur. There's a restraurant on the corner as well. Flollow the road for about 7kms. When it tries to enter a village with an archway across the road, or just big pillars, turn hard right into the abandoned housing estate and follow the road for about a kilometer.

9 holes. Fees about 250 baht including caddy. Lots of water.

There's also the 98 hole course at Mae Sai Resort. Unsignposted. On a bend after the snake farm. Lots of trees.

Sorry, obviously is should be 9 holes, not 98.

The course at San Kampaeng is difficult to find, though there are some very small signs pointing in the right direction.

I can imagine getting fairly fed up with "The Club" after 2 rounds.

Where do they find those caddies. Must be realtives of the owners. Gross. The bar staff aren't much better either. Win prizes for ugly, and lazy.

I presume you're slagging off the Gymkana Club, if not then ignore this.

The caddies are the best in Chiang Mai and many are very good golfers. It's the only course were the caddies give proper advice and actually look where your ball goes.

Sorry if you got a bad caddy but it pays to be friendly.

The owners are the members.

I have heard from someone who knows a lot about these things that there is definatley one new club opening quite soon and another in the planning stages.

does anyone who plays ever have trouble getting decent Tee Times in CM clubs?

Pate, go to <www.thaigolfer.com> and you can do a search from there that will give you a list of what I think is all of the golf courses in Thailand. A lot of them give the layout, fees and other useful information. Best I can contribute.

I played the Lamphun Club and had a great caddy! She gave me all my distances in yards, pointed out blind hazards, and best of all, managed to find most of my shots that went into the trees.
