I applied for a 6 month family visa for my thai wife on the 4/4/14. Its now 14/5/14 and there has been a limited response from VFS global with last email looking like this :ukvi-international.faq-help.com/

Dear Nittaya Richards Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigrations International Enquiry service. As I checked your application, it was assessed and the decision was made. Please do not ask us if the visa was issued or not as it is only informed to the applicant. You will receive the notification if you have chosen to collect. Please note that IT IS NOT READY TO COLLECT YET. We hope that this has answered your query. For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please refer to our website

This was 1/5/14

Numerous emails later with no response, I have called them at 1.27 pound per minute and paid 200 baht for web chat (which got cut off and now is invalid ) and been told there is no record of my GWF ID number and the tracking number they have given me is invalid......................i really dont know what to do next. Im a bit worried if i head to the office things and people may end up broken and i dont want to go that way but my frustrations are building !!!!!

Any advice or even to hear of similar tales will be much appreciated,

Thanks,

Brett

The whole system is in chaos at the moment. My wife applied on 10th April and got the same responses when contacting the new VFS premium call and e mail service as you did. They are based in the UK and only have a computer screen to look up. My wife went to the VFS office in Bangkok last Monday and found the application had been back since 3rd May. On speaking to other girls there were many in the same situation. Suggest your only option is to get your wife to do the same.

Best of luck

Yes you definitely should have received your visa or a failure letter by now. We submitted our application on 4 April too and we have been in England over a week already (received visa in mail on 26th April).

The new "you can't contact us" system is a complete joke.

Anyone else with a story like this please post. I'm about to write to British Embassy/UK minister's office/my MP/press

Yup, we had a similar experience...

Seems most trouble was around that date as they had just moved offices.

My wife went for her appointment on 5th April. She had to ask for the manager straight away as the receptionist denied any knowledge of her appointment :)

Luckily, she did receive her docs back after a couple weeks and we are now in U.K.

I wrote complaint letters to both VFS head office and also U.K BA office.

It was a stressful time but not completely unexpected in Thailand.

I suggest the OP and his wife go camping in the VFS office and harass them until they produce all your docs, they will be there but someone is too lazy to search unless being hit with a big stick.

Good luck

Thanks Jim,

I know it's not nice but I do feel slightly better knowing it's a problem for everyone.......glad yours got sorted.

Could your wife collect the visa there and then?

We will head down there tomorrow and see whats happening.

Cheers again for letting us know whats going on

Yes the documents had been there for over a week they did not let us know. I think you will find yours are there but they will only let the applicant go up to the visa floor.

Best of luck
