Chalerm warns EC to organise election or face jail term

BANGKOK: -- Former labour minister Chalerm Yoobamrung Friday warned the Election Commission to speed up preparations for holding the next election or face a jail term.

Chalerm said the government did not have to consult the EC on the election holding and should leave it to the EC to handle it.

"If the EC refuses to hold the new election, the EC members will violate the laws and will face jail term," Chalerm said.

This so called government (CAPO) is way beyond reality at this point.

Khun Chalerm could save everyone a lot of trouble. He should just appoint a new Prime Minister himself, then organise elections before anyone gets up, except in Isaan. Say around 4 am- ish.

Whatever did Thaksin see in this man ? Yes - he's a heavy - but can he think ? He's done far more harm then help to Thaksin's cause. He does it through blinding stupidity. He does it through outlandish threats. This statement - from the man who is convinced the Constitutional Court got it all wrong - doesn't merit analysis. It's just nuts.

Didnt he get the letter yet saying he has been terminated as head of CAPO. All the other minsters bowed out that day semi-gracefully be Chalerm is ignoring the Court rulings against him.

BTW! How does he know the CC doesnt need to talk with the Gov prior to scheduling. He doesnt even know his own job yet can quote others jobs and then threaten them?

If the EC does hold elections and they are voided again then Chalerm alone should fork out the expense to pay for it.
