Problems With Iom?

Featured Replies

My Thai GF called me in tears this morning following a visit to Bumrungrad re:TB.

She has been back in Thailand for a couple of weeks now and we finally have everything together for a settlement visa. Last week she went to Bumrungrad for xrays for TB, and was told no probs.

She has since been to the visa outsourcing centre who have told her she has to do the test through IOM at guess....Bumrungrad!!!!!

Upon going back to Bumrungrad for IOM xrays they have suggested she may have TB!!!! She has to go back for tests over 3 days. As you can imagine this isn't free!

I am wondering whether we're getting fleeced here. The original doctor she saw at Bumrungrad cannot understand why they feel there is now a problem.

Has anyone's better half been through these further tests, can anyone shed some light!?!?!

A very worried,

Rob

No, you are not getting fleeced. Something must have shown up in the second X-ray.

I really hope that the original test is the one that is correct and it is the second one that is at fault. Hopefully all the further tests will come up negative and she does not have TB!

Best wishes to you both.

With regard to the actual test, the guidance on the embassy website and the VFS website does clearly say

Only certificates issued by the IOM clinic will be acceptable.
They will not accept certificates from other clinics, even if they are run at the same hospital.
