How is curfew affecting late night arrivals or early morning departures.

Featured Replies

Hello,

Seems I cannot make a round trip to the Philippines without trying to get to the airport before 5 am, or arriving back in Bangkok after 12 pm. Does anyone know if the curfew is affecting taxis or bus, or skytrain to and from airport.

Thanks.

According to the news you should be able to get to and from the airport even during curfew. Might be advisable to book a car to avoid any trouble in trying to find one or any taxi, if they are on the road.

This. Travel is still allowed with valid ID and travel documents.

BBC just reported no problems to and from airport....

Also said not much change in BKK either....

CCTV out of China, says the same.... thumbsup.gif

I'm watching this situation closely as am due to arrive on 31st May. CNN just mentioned longer than normal queus for taxis but do not mention at what times. With no trains after 9 pm, getting to and from the airport by taxi must be causing problems. I hope to book a limo to be sure, so if anyone knows if the limo services are still operation during the curfew, please post any experiences you have, thanks.

What I don't understand is why isn't there a night time flight curfew? In light of the current situation this would make the most sense. All other transport options that normally run late at night have been cancelled. Surely the same should apply to flights?

Any sort of disruption to flights would cause chaos for the airlines, they just cannot go somewhere else on a whim, especially if they are using Bangkok as an intermediate stop.

It makes no sense to anyone to do this and AOT also need the income from landing fees, passenger service charges and shopping.

What is the procedure for dropping off departing passengers at the airport during curfew hours?

I understand that having the passengers in the car with their tickets and passports will satisfy the requirements at any checkpoint, but how about once the passengers have been dropped and the driver is returning on his own?

I read elsewhere that the driver will need to enter the airport and get an authorization of some kind. Does anyone know the procedure for this? Where to go? What does the driver need to present to them?

Had a nightflight 01:40 AM to Amsterdam.

Taxi to Airport no check points at all.

Just make a copy off flight ticket, passport needed anyway.
