Matej Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Hello I'd like to ask whether there's possibility that current situation will affect flight tickets priceses. Is here anyone who has experienced the same effect in 2006? Thank you
angsta Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Less demand usually equals less flights and price increases. Don't expect to see a fire sale.
schondie Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I just checked my usual website for cheap flights and they're offering one way flights to Heathrow (one stop for 3 hours) for 12,180 baht including taxes. As I'll be leaving the first week of June I find these kind of prices to be well below fares I searched a year ago. Coup or no coup, less people are travelling as budgets need to be tightened.
Matej Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 Problem with one way tickets is that it's very difficult to find a ticket back "home" for a reasonable price in needed date. I'll be leaving to Thailand 1st of July for 2 months. Price from Central Europe is around 30 000 - 35 000 baht, for a return ticket. It's naive expect a sharp discount among all airline companies because of the coup, but I think there's slightly higher probability of catching a good promo action.

phuketrichard Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 nok is offering 899 baht flights out of bangkok to other areas in thailand
CNXBKKMAN Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Ticket prices to and from the uk will be cheaper if you begin your travel before the end of June. Some airlines before about 20 th June. After this point the airfares increase for the busy July August period. The coup and travel advisories should lessen demand making it easier to get the cheapest booking classes.

CNXBKKMAN Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 12k one way BKK to LHR was available pre coup and probably is now. This info is put up every time someone asks for a cheap one way to the UK. Srilankan airways. Go to their website, move your dates around a bit to get a good connection. Probably more expensive in July August and Christmas new year times.
dddave Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I just returned an hour ago from a 4 day trip to Budapest from Bangkok. My Thai A380 outbound was packed...not a vacant seat. My Lufthansa return flight today was on an A340-600, so empty I had a row of four seats to myself to stretch out on. My fare was full price because purchased within 24 hours of the flight but I would guess that getting any kind of bargain outbound from BKK these days won't be easy.
