Thailand push to lure foreign workers

All at the same time they are cracking down on farang in the country, but can't get enough of the ASEAN citizens who bring in zero money to Thailand and if anything send it out of the country.

Whatever happened to immigration rules that you can not do any work that a Thai can do?... Oh I forgot, that is for westerners only.

Our eyes are the wrong shape.

They may bring in zero money but they actually work instead of lounging around picking their spots and for half the money.

yeah it's strange that they want people from cambodia to come and work and take the money out of thailand into cambodia while at the same time they make it harder for freelance internet workers who bring money from outside of thailand and want to spend it all in thailand and want to pay tax in thailand, but have a hard time because of the need to hire 4 thais and having an "office" etc.

Strange isn't it, but it does put perspective on where freelance on liners are in scheme of things in Thailand as regards "need" below Cambodian street cleaners ;)

Myth 1: they are cracking down on farang. They are actually cracking down on koreans too.

Myth 2: Asean citizens bring in zero money. Only a westerner with inferiority complex would tar all of Asean with one sweeping stereotype. Oh dear.

Myth 3: your eyes are the wrong shape. It is not the eyes that matter but what skills you bring. The are many CEOs, GMs from East and West here.

In any case, surely you do not covet the manual jobs of these poor Asean unskilled laborers, which is the focus of the article?

What is funny about the "Thais shun construction work" is there are tens of thousands of Thais working in the construction industry in Taiwan. And they earn around 15K/month with accommodation.
