Lite Beer
You can leave whenever you want and upon your return you will get stamped in up until your 12 month extension ends.
ubonjoe
If you have an extension of stay and a re-entry permit you get a permit to stay equal to when you extension ends. It does not matter whether you enter by air or land.

A retirement extension is good for one year. Are you still working at all in Thailand? If so you should have a work permit, and it's very rare that one is given on a retirement extension these days. So between that and your wanting to get an additional 90 days, I'm not entirely sure that you have a retirement extension.
