Can' get my glass shower door clean... Any advise welcome.

I have a glass shower door and the white spotty marks are all over it, does anyone know the solution on how to remove as i have tried everything i know?

While you are cleaning up your bathroom, Haiter Bleach is doing wonders against smelly drains, dark toilet pipes, whatever. And you might use it as a effective weapon fighting your shower door, too.

Use one of those sponges with the green ruff side you use to clean no stick pans. If it has not been removed for awhile you may not get it all first time. Clean every week and your buildup in tight areas will all be gone soon.

Just tried the vinegar and no it does not work. The lime has become too deep rooted i think. I saw more difficult options on the internet but they are not available here.

Mix equal parts vinegar and hot water and use a coffee filter to wipe the glass afterwards. If in addition you have some scratches on your doors try toothpaste.

This is exactly what you want. If you cant get it in Thailand then try some chemical supply shops for sulfamic acid. Usually sold as a white powder, water soluble.

I was recently researching something similar for my condo windows and came across a phuket company that provides glass cleaning and protection services. I haven't contacted them yet but will do when I'm next in Phuket. It's probably overkill for a single shower door but here us a link anyway.

Razor scraper to get the thick stuff off, then white vinegar to get the rest.

As an alternative, muriatic acid (35% HCl for cleaning pools) will generally take it off, along with several layers of lung tissue if you use it without proper ventilation. Not recommended unless you're crazy. I use it sometimes.

Another alternative (not so bad as HCl) is phosphoric acid sold at auto paint shops to prep bare metal for painting.

Vinegar (and most scale products) should work on calcium carbonate scale, but probably not if it's calcium sulfate (gypsum).

Bleach is great for getting mold and mildew, but won't generally work on scale.

Make sure you wet your glass before applying solution. I think it requires a little water to work correctly, could be wrong but that's what I did. You might want to use gloves as this stuff is strong.

When you have cleaned the glass apply some windscreen treatment, rain repellent. You can get this at the auto department in any super market. This will protect the glass for several months, then just apply again.

If the build up is soap and body fat scum dish washing liquid will do the trick. Apply add a little water then scrub and rinse.

I had same problem..got a cleaner in and she used a small blue and white jar called ezy clean 40baht try supermarkets. It's a paste, she covered the door and left it for 30min and used steel wool to clean came out like new. As all glass differs if that doesn't work a new door is the go. After the money you have spent you could have replaced it 3 times over.
