10 repetitive questions straight dudes tend to ask gay dudes ...

Featured Replies

Do you have any to ADD to the list?

Asking the gay dudes here specifically because the straight dudes wouldn't know what the gay dudes might find annoying to hear again and again.

In other words, please be clear, this is NOT another "Ask A Gay In A Box" thread soliciting questions for gay people to answer.

The list in the ten is rather USA-culture-centric. The culture for foreign gay men in Thailand is of course different. So are there questions that would meet the description of being tiresome to hear again and again that you feel fit more in the Thailand cultural context? I reckon some questions around the ladyboy topic might come up a lot here.

Sure, many people are well-meaning and just a little curious, but there are some recurring questions from the straights that we are sort of tired of hearing. The following is list of things this gay dude is tired of responding to, so I thought I'd just write down the responses too in the hopes that maybe these things can stop being said.

11) Are you not afraid of being infected with HIV?

Strictly speaking, this does not only apply to gay people, but the wider perception is that gays are more vulnerable to HIV.

And that is a question, being asked to gay people many times.

Good example.

There is a little peculiarity about the question "when will you get married?".

My bank asked me recently whether I'm married and I said that I got married last year, but that is not recognized by the Thai government.

I must be too straight ... I had to look up what 'Grindr' was ... facepalm.gif

Hahaha I like 9. Who pays the bill.. and I also thought 2. Could be quite tiresome even for a lot of folks - especially here in Thailand - and not just orientational specific..

You know the difference between a straight man and a gay man don't you?

The questions I'm asked are:

-Are you into Asian guys because they are smooth (no hair usually)

-Why are some older Queens such miserable grumpy shits

-Are most gays wealthy

-Do you have a lot of gay friends

My Answers are:

-No mine has more hair than me

-They were miserable grumpy shits when they were young - ignore them

-Yes the ones I know

-Same same as the general population 97% straight 3% gay

Nice to see a sense of humour still roams in this Forum.
