Can I get my single person's UK pension increased?

I'm posting this for a friend of mine who has recently had his state pension decreased for reasons that he doesn't understand...

I am British, borne and bread, a cockney, much the same as an Issan.

I am on state pension (Old age pension) I am 66. I have been married to my Thai wife for about 10 years, give or take. She is 43 years old but in wonderful condition.

I have been advised that I should claim for marriage allowance.

Now not being too educated with regards to state benefits, pensions ect, I do not know if I would be entitled to claim such an allowance or not.

We live in Thailand and I have lived here for 11 years.

Can anyone advise if I can claim a marriage allowance (not forgetting she is Thai and only 43 ) and if so how much would I expect to see my pension increased by.

Come on all you experts, if you don’t know don’t comment…
