more likely they are worried about evidence of corruption in emails

The interesting part is that the OP only mentions "266 MPs didn't return their ipad on loan"

No mention of from which party and of course no names as that would probably open up the newspaper reporting to a case of defamation. It might be easier and less costly to simply give the other 234 MPs their ipad back and use 20 million Baht to buy new ones for the 500 September 2014 appointed members of parliament.

You would think that with all the money they embezzle they would be able to afford their own.

If i was in the position that they were and lent a computer to use in my business as a politician I would be rather concerned at handing back the computer because of the privacy concerns as it would hold details of party political discussions and policy planning that was not public information. At the very least the memory would be very very well wiped. I think members of any countries parliaments would have the same concerns. (Some traces still remain in ram and in the os.)

If you were an''honest politician'' I doubt that there would be anything to hide, as you state the memory could be wiped.

There are many disc wiping programmes out there for free, and many are of a very high strength. Run a file shredding programme then wipe the disc and any information remaining would be minimal, any information left would indeed take a lot of time to retrieve let alone make sense.

However no doubt due to the fact that the M.P.s concerned have lost their monthly income and no doubt in some cases ''the Shinwatra stipend'' their ipads are probably already in the pawn shop.cheesy.gif

Bill them for the tablets. Then I bet they would get returned pronto.

Or the bills would get ignored.

Want to make a bet on which would happen? Hypothetically of course as gambling is illegal in Thailand.

Far too logical ... therefore ... rolleyes.gif
