NCPO stresses on integrated approach for solutions to southern unrest

BANGKOK, 22 July 2014 (NNT) - The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) has emphasized that the 98/2557 announcement of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has the objective to adopt an integrated approach in tackling the problem of the southern unrest.

ISOC spokesman Col.Banphot Phunphian said the NCPOs 98/2557 announcement issued on Monday called on relevant units to continue using the policies on management and development of the southern border provinces for the years 2012-2014 until new policies were issued. They were also told to prioritize their operations according to the urgency of each issue.

The NCPO also tasked the National Security Council to be responsible for coordinating government agencies and other relevant units in developing a plan on peace dialogues and ensure fair enforcement of laws for the local people.

BMA to propose long-term flood control plans to NCPO
