And another thing.....When you come back don't forget there is now a serious limit to the value of goods you can bring in with without attracting customs charges and penalties. Hope you're carrying receipts for all those expensive goodies you're taking with you before thinking about another new handbag...or three.

Smart move by the lady, Why tell them so they will be waiting for her at the airport when she returns.

There reporters of the news it's their job to find out when she returns, and I'm sure they will whether she tells them or not.

Will she return well thats another story.

Let's get real here. For all those of you speculating on her "prison time", ask yourself this question: How many Hi-So Elites have EVER gone to prison, even for murder? Prison for them is a fantasy. Fines and suspended sentences are the reality. Even if found guilty of every charge, it will be suspended sentences, fines, and perhaps some "restitution". THAT is the reality of the Thai Justice System.

Wasn't her brother sentenced to two years imprisonment ?

Such persons don't travel with lugage only handbagage as she has a wardrobe in her other hous in Europe......and ofcourse uses the VIP track on Svarnabumi.

By the way a biljonaires fam uses there own plane...

Then why is Thaksin afraid to come back?

Yingluck is up and away

BANGKOK: -- Ex-premier Yingluck Shinawatra and her son have flown out on a THAI flight to Paris shortly after midnight Wednesday but promised to return on schedule.

She and son Supasek Amornchat arrived to check in for TG 930 flight to Paris at 10.00 p.m. amid an army of media journalists at Suvarnabhumi airport.

A total of 11 suitcases were checked on the flight two hours earlier.

Accompanying her on the flight included her niece and her son’s two close friends.

Ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra’s youngest daughter Paetongtarn was also on the same flight but was not seen at the airport. She reportedly checked in after most media representatives have left.

Thaksin’s divorced wife Khunying Pojamarn Damapong has flown out earlier to Paris.

Yingluck told the media before entering the departure lounge that she would return surely.

“I want to take a vacation. Let’s talk after I’ve come back,” Yingluck replied when reporters shouted to her and asked when would she return.

Yingluck sought to travel abroad from July 23 to August 10.

The plane took off at 00.05 a.m.

Nobody from her Pheu Thai party’s leading members were seen to send her off last night, except two former prime ministers Surapong Tovichakchaikul, and Kittirat na Ranong.

Only her lawyer Phichit Chuenbarn, her PR team leader Wim Rungwatanachinda, a Pheu Thai party member Singto Buachum, and former prime minister’s deputy secretary-general Pol Maj Gen Thawat Boonfueng were seen at the airport to send her off.

Other Shinawatra family members who included Yingluck’s elder sister Mrs Yaowapha Wongsawat and her husband Somchai Wongsawat, Thaksin Shinawatra’s younger brother Payab, are scheduled to leave for Paris on another flight Thursday night. All have earlier sought permission from the National Council for Peace and Order to leave for the same purpose of attending Thaksin’s 65th birthday anniversary in Paris on July 26.

Former foreign minister Surapong said last night he would leave Thursday night as he has already sought permission from the NCPO and would return on July 27.

He said he did not make appointment with Ms Yingluck in Paris but stated that in the past it was common to see foreign minister and prime minister going together at all official functions. Now both are former ministers, it was also common to see them together.

Former finance minister Kittirat said he did not go to Paris as he has not sought permission because he had no intention to go there.

Yingluck departs Thailand for her scheduled Europe trip

BANGKOK, 24 July 2014 (NNT) - Former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra was seen with her son at the Suvarnabhumi Airport last night, while bringing along 11 pieces of luggage with her to head for France as part of her European trip scheduled from July 20th to August 14th.

Ms. Yingluck has been granted permission by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to travel abroad due to her cooperation in refraining from active political roles since the military takeover of the country.

When asked by members of the press on whether she would return to Thailand, Ms. Yingluck promised to do so without any conditions.

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul was also among her entourage who would accompany her during the trip. However, former Finance Minister Kittiratt Na Ranong would not tag along with her, stating that he did not obtain a travel visa to stay in Europe. Instead, he had only accompanied Ms. Yingluck to the airport.

And how many days has he served so far?

Not exactly been busy with the extradition requests so far have they?

most countries don't recognize his crime as being either a crime or a crime serious enough to warrant extradition

Don't know about clothes but Shins usually seem to travel with lots of large cases on outward flights. VIP track for sure.

The OP says she was flying on Thai -very fitting Avatar by the way.

Crap. Try reading about extradition treaties and how the process works before posting nonsense.

So, no return date on her ticket, then? Maybe the ticket is just one-way.

For the Schengen Visa she needs a return ticket.

I wonder if they'll let her back in. Immigration seems to be turning away repeat offenders.

They can always cancel her, and Thaksin's, passports, but that would only happen if the junta was serious about fighting corruption at all levels.
