If you're looking for new tires, they're easy to find at:

https://www.cockpit.co.th/

http://www.b-quik.com/en/index.php

Very easy to type in the size and up they pop.

I'm looking for info on buying remolded tires, in BKK. (size 195/50 15)

An old friend used to buy ones for his pick-ups (at around 6k for the 4.)

I've never looked nor come across remolded tires here.

Any info?

Thanks.

Please note that this is not a thread about buying new tires, or the pro/cons of new tires verses remolded tires.

Thanks.

You have a death wish......?

new tires can be bought for 2200 to 2500, why bother with remolded?

Remolded when done by a reputable company can be reliable and almost as good as a new tire, but I don't hear of any reputable companies doing it in Thailand, or perhaps I just don't know

Get the ''real thing.''

What price do you place on your or for that fact others lives?

Remolds were and still are a trifle suspect in the U.K.

Here in Thailand I wouldn't trust them at all easy to re-groove and re-cut a tread pattern and leave you the consumer nipping down the highway at 100 k..p.h on paper thin rubber material would not be, nor is my idea of safe driving and longevity.

My guess is he's not likely looking for them for that. Farm or something? At any rate not for us to judge.

Well look at your post judgmental perchance?cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

I, and I was not alone either, made comments based upon our opinions I didn't judge the O.P.

Tyres for agricultural purpose are certainly in our case bought second hand, all road going vehicles are fitted with new tyres not remolds.

It's already been stated that the purpose for needing 6 sets of remolded tires in BKK by the end of August is for the purpose of eating them. No need to continue on the question quest. :)

I know of a few places that do truck tires, so they must be legal. Sorry, no info on car retreads.

No, not for cars, just because trucks are permitted does not necessarily extend to cars which are also not speed limited or restricted from toll roads like trucks as I said previously, so it is still possible they're not legal and for most retread providers they are not financially profitable in car sized tires as well.

Strangely they are legal in the UK. blink.png

After experiencing a tread come off a heavy goods vehicle w00t.gif I was driving, there is nooooooooo way I would use remoulds. sad.png

Good remoulds are fine. The manufacturing process is regulated to fairly strict standards in the UK, with limits on the age, quality and condition of the tyre structures which can be re-used. I have used remoulded winter tyres before now and for that they were perfect.

Something tells me that the quality of remoulded tyres in Thailand might not be regulated to the same extent.

Retreads are another matter though and should not be touched with a barge pole.
