Looking for a modern room/studio less than 6000 baht/month

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i'm gonna be spending at least 3 months in Bangkok and i'm looking for a room or a studio (or a small flat) i can rent for less than 6000 baht per month.

I need the accomodation to have a good security and of course a reliable internet connection.

Any advices where to go?

There's a website called Prakard. Forum rules prohibit me from posting the link, but if you search on Google you will find that website. There are hundreds of apartments on there for rent.

Thanks for the answer. Actualy i'm more interested in an serviced residence with several furnished rooms/studios to rent

For apartments at such a low rent, check 9apartment (com). You can choose by area and then sort them by price. I am not allowed to post a link, but i hope moderators allow me to post the hint what to google for

I doubt very much you can get a serviced apartment for three months at the rate of 6,000 Baht a month. I think 8,000 to 10,000 is more realistic.

In 2011 I live in BK for 5 months. First I rented a room in MinBuri, at the Tara Garden Hotel on Soi Ramkanhaeng, and later in a new service/apartment building on the same street. Nice places with AC, frig, wifi, parking, etc. At that time costing 5000thb/month. It is a busy small street with many good restaurants and markets, leading to the entry gate of the Perfect Place complex...Very well known in the area, and with a nice Club House everybody can join. Many more hotels and service/apartments buildings around offering monthly rentals.

Could you tell me the name of this new serviced apartment?

Remember to factor in your daily transportation costs relating to where you choose to live. A 5 to 6000 Baht room way beyond the convenient transportation grid can end up costing thousands more a month in taxi fares.

I think you have set the bar a little low for a 3 month rental of a serviced room or apartment.

Try CONTEMP apartments on soi Pridi 13 off Sukhumvit 71 in Phra Khanong. 5 year old building, 30 s/m studios furnished including TV and cable, wi-fi, refrigerator and microwave. There is a very small pool and a sort of fitness room.

Usually B7000-9000/mo depending on contract time.

Building is well maintained and clean.

20 minute walk to Phra Khanong BTS, B20 moto taxi. Also convenient to Rhamkhamheng ARL station. Several major bus lines run along Suk 71.

Directions: Take Suk. 71 to Soi (Pridi) 13 (7-11 on corner). turn left onto 13, then your immediate first left off 13, follow around to the right, building on right side. Very quiet area. I have had several friends who have stayed there.

When I have looked at 9apartments.com , I have noticed that many of the listings are 3 and 4 years old...read carefully.

Whats the advantage of serviced vs non-serviced? They sweep the floor, wash the sheets, and perhaps do some bathroom cleaning?

Do you want somebody entering your room every week?

Bangkok is as cheap as anywhere up north. Don't believe the hype about it being "expensive". 3k should get you something decent in Bangkok and that includes wifi and aircon. I try to never spend more than 3k a month for accomodation while I'm in Thailand. Thais don't so why should you and I?

zierf1, thanks for the reply. For the 3000 baht per month, is it walking distance to MRT/BTS/ARL? If not, what do you normally budget for transport daily? I assume you take a motorbike taxi to the MRT/BTS/ARL? What section of Bangkok is that in?

Thanks

Does anyone have any info about Lumpini Sukhumvit 77? Lots of studios from this place are appearing at search results of about 7000 range.
