Went last week for a 2-night's trip to SIN. Planned to, and did, join the wedding -reception of a staff member. Lovely party until another staff member collapsed and passed away. I did stay 2 nights longer, what a sad story to attend a funeral of a guy, who's mail I read this morning, still looking for my replies.

Now, why I put this here? The late fellow, 6' something or 1.80 m tall, strong and healthy looking had a history of heart attack (1 before) He did eat in the past meat, only, washing it down with drinks. Changed, but perhaps too late.

Now, as a layman I can only say, stick to a reasonable diet.

I do feel sorry for bride and groom, having somebody die on your happy day??

I am angry with the SIN rescue service, arrived within 20 minutes, although the hospital is just 3 min away.

I do feel sorry for the guy who died, 37 years of age! (Cannot happen to me anymore.)

Now, what is your recommendation on food. This guy's: Meat, meat and no vegies, but, positive?, wash it down with a drink.

Don't tell me to eat vegetarian onl, or not to drink. Give some ideas to people who like to enjoy.

Very recently a good friend of mine passed away.

He was a very sportive guy, playing football, tennis, running,...

He decided to go for bicycling and on the the first "difficulty", he just fell dead.

He was 44 years old, leaves a quite young widow and a 15 years old son,...

What did he do? He did not eat that much, he did not drink that much but for as long as I knew him, he smokes heavily. Is it the reason? I do not know but anyway, better safe than sorry,...

The cigarettes are the worst thing in my humble opinion.

That is a very sad occurence to have to witness.

I was once sent an e-mail from a friend that advised in the event of you or anyone you are with suffering a suspected heart attack, that you cough for all your worth. Seemingly the action of coughing can re-star your heart!! I have never tested the theory but my heart specialist at Bumrungrad seemed to think it made sence when I relayed the story to him. Somehow it just does notsound that plausible to me but I know if I am ever in that situation, that if physically capable, I'll be coughing as fast as I can.

Having said that, I am a belever in regular check-ups for your heart capability na dhvae suffered some scares before which have been out down to stress after having ECG's and also a full heart functionality test wired up to the computer whilst on a treadmill.

For me my diet is pretty crap, consisting of irregular meals and smoking so I try and eat more fish and chicken, than red meat wherever possible but I know my vegtable intake is not great. I am 35.

Hope this helps

Think, I do believe you.

OTH, last year I changed hospital and made a check up in another big one, down on Soi Soonvichai (ok no names). Filled in all the forms and marked: 'never smoked in my life'.

Made all kinds of machine-tests, got a free lunch. I met finally a doctor in the afternoon, who read the results to me, sounded like a machine himself.

Told him, I want to find out why I feel easily tired. Immediate reply, 'you smoke too much'...'Aeeeh, (after checking my recored, never smoked) I think you drink too much.'

Not too far away from there now. Good innings so far but would not worry particularly if I knew I was to be bowled out soon.

Not far away and I admit, 'Nowadays it does take me all night, to do what I used to do all night'.

BTW, the SIN - story never ends, the groom quit his job with us, the other stuff is nervous (all the girls) with the empty desk-space where their colleague was sitting.

Solution: Move the bl... office. Actually wanted to do it in August,, when the lease expired, do it now in May but got 3 months' free rent in the new place after explained the situation.

Singapore is a high tech - country but still there are the rules of feng shui and superstation.
