A PSI scam? Can PSI do this? A buyer's protection case?

I had a normal PSI box with my system. One year ago I bought a PSI HD2 box to watch the Sun Channel/ La Liga Football from Spain, and later the Brazil World Cup. I paid 1620thb with the information that was one time payment, like the PSI cable system I have for 4 years now. PSI even advertised the HD2 box on TV with that offer. One time payment, no monthly or extra payments to watch La Liga and others channels...

I watched La Liga games without any problem for months before the World Cup events. I knew that the World Cup was a temporary program, and I was OK when was discontinued but....the La LIga Channel went off too.

I went to the PSI store and they told me that now LaLiga Channel is not free anymore and I will have to pay 890thb for every season.

When you purchase a DVB-S2 Set Top Box, it can be sold with different bundled subscription. the length of the subscription should be defined in the description or written contract agreement included with the device.

"Those with PSI's O2 Digital HD set-top box can also watch RS La Liga and Fifa World Cup 2014 free of charge"

"To offer privileges to existing PSI set-top-box users, covering about 12 million boxes in Thailand, they are entitled to upgrading the standard SD box to PSI O2 Digital to watch programs in digital HD without any monthly charges. Content includes this year’s La Liga Spain throughout the tournament, all in HD, free of charge for the whole season, and World Cup Channel HD. Additionally, existing programs will also be available in Digital HD such as PSI channel, Channel 8, Channel 6, Work Point TV and Shop at Home Channel. Other programs will constantly be added to the Digital HD list. The price of PSI O2 Digital HD is 2,490 baht. Those who already have a PSI box can exchange it for a new one at only 1,690 baht. PSI O2 Digital HD also features over 200 free-viewing channels in standard definition."

This would indicate that only the current season was included with purchase of a new device.

It seems every day now someone is claiming this or that is a scam, whether it's someone refusing a torn $50 bill at the Laos border or getting braces for someone's teeth for several years or being charged for TV service or 7-Eleven not making change for a utility bill payment down to the last satang or ....

And in each case the "scam" wasn't a scam. Unfortunately they will all go into the Thai Visa catalogue of (imaginary) scams for future reference.

Yes, but the different(?) OP's hope to get more attention/clicks on their, otherwise uninteresting posts, using the term "SCAM" in the headline...

Just modeling the attention getting techniques used by TV, radio, newspaper, magazine, internet, etc., media/news services.

If you have to pay 890 baht for a season of LaLiga in HD then it works out to less than 25 baht per week... not exactly the worst deal in the world...
