Culture ministry kicks off campaign to promote Thai values

BANGKOK, 24 August 2014 (NNT) - The Ministry of Culture has launched a road map to promote Thai values in line with the cultural policy of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO). The road map will be officially implemented nationwide on 8 September 2014.

Permanent Secretary for Culture Apinan Posayanont said the road map targeted Thai children and adolescents with the objective to help them apply Thai values in their daily lives. All units under the ministry were required to make action plans before they were put into practice. The implementation of the road map would be overseen by executive of the NCPO and navy chief Admiral Narong Phiphatthanasai, said Mr Apinan.

Director of the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture Khammachart Thepchai said the office would organize a photo competition under the theme of Thai values next month and encouraged the general public to submit their work from 1-12 September 2014. The qualifying photos will be exhibited on 19 September.
