Software to download videos w Windows and Firefox?

Thanks for reading this. I have used YTD Video Downloader (acquired on CNET - my preferred place to get software), but, found it was good for Youtube but would not work (gives message - essentially - 'do not support this website) with many other places I would like to download from. I also used IDM (which seemed to work great) until the free trial was over.

I was considering looking into paying for IDM, but, read some reviews on CNET and some were disturbing. Here is part of one review: "..but it turned out to install a bitcoin miner in the subfolders of AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Player which only went active after a few days, not immediately. Caused 100% CPU load right after bootup.".

So, having gotten great help here on Thaivisa with various technical issues, I thought I would do this post and see if any of you could make a recommendation.

Thanks again for reading this and for any response you might make!! biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

Flashgot add-on for Firefox does a decent job. It gives you the option of downloading all the different qualities if it comes in HD etc.

Coupled with the DownThemAll manager, it's fast and you can continue from where you left off if the net goes down for a while.

DownThemAll - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/downthemall/
