Is this every doctor in a clinic or is that something special that requires a big hospital?

Every foreigner needs a work permit to work in Thailand, regardless of the nature of the work or the nature of the company. (With the exeption of diplomats and such).

A foreign doctor would further need a Thai medical license in order to practise.

hahaha, sorry my posting is complete mis-leading....sorry.....

I mean: For the WP there is a recent medical certificate from a first-class licensed physician in Thailand necessary.....

When I need that certificate, can every doc in a small clinic give me that or do I need to go to a bigger hospital to get it?

I don't know if that "first-class licensed" mean something special.

first class is apparently a misstranslation. It is doctors of the first category of doctors...ie a normal western medicine doctor and not a Thai Natural medicine doctor or a Chinese Medicine Doctor.

However you also need a blood test for syphillis etc so it may be quicker and easier to go to a hospital clinic either Government if you can wait a bit or private hospital as they can probably get the results quicker. .

For work permit can not have untreated 3rd stage syphilis since it affects the mind.

But most hospitals do blood test for any syphilis to prove not have 3rd stage syphilis
