Sticky \ key

Featured Replies

I have an HP Pavilion laptop with a stuck \ key. I can’t even sign in because of the stuck \ key. I popped it out and cleaned around the best I could, but no luck. I never use the \ key. Is there anyway to disconnect the \ key? Any other suggestions would be wonderful.

Look on youtube for your brand and you'll find a video showing how to pop your keyboard out, or pop off an individual key for cleaning. Relatively easy to pop the single key and see what's locking it. Probably a staple or bent spring/lever underneath it.

Great idea. I found a video with my exact model and keyboard. All fixed up now.

Thanks

You can also use the on screen keyboard that windows has. You can find it in control panel / ease of access / On screen keyboard. It worked for me for a while till i could replace my laptop keyboard thumbsup.gif
