Buriram Border Check point to full.

As Buriram Province is the only province adjoining a neighbouring country that doesn't have an Immigration post, I presume you are referring to the crossing near Ban Kruad. At present people can only use this crossing 3 days a week to get to the market on the Cambodian side.

I believe that on the Cambodian side construction of a casino has already been started with the concrete foundations already laid. This post will be a boon for southern Buriram residents and also for some Khorat residents who presently have to go to Chom Choem or Aranyapratet if the have to leave the Country.

Any idea what the post is to be called?

The only official name I have seen is "Border Land Check Point" . I was there a week ago and by the looks of the casino its at east 3 years away. May go back this sunday and get more photos. Only foot traffic at the moment and you must leave your Passport with army as they control it. No sign of any immigration. GPS14.336176661, 103.175825385 (Border Land Crossing) and its 18 km south of Ban Kruat.

I doubt it will take 3 years before the casino is operating. Remember how quickly the casino at Chom Choem was erected, went there for a visa, it had barely been started, three months later doing my 90 days the thing (together with the hotel) were well on the way to completion.

About three/four weeks ago I was there and became involved in a short discussion with high ranking custom officers (from BKK???) who'd been at the check-point for inspection. They told me that they try to open a full immigration point in between three month, so still two month to go.... Whether the casino is functional or not does not matter, the local falang in this area will love to go for a short trip to the border instead of heading for Kap Choeng. Unfortunately the Cambodian market has lost its wonderful flair. It used to be a authentic rural lovely market, for locals of both sides of the border. Now they have changed it into a Cheap Charly bs thing...

Be nice and convenient for you Fatfather, you can walk to the customs post from your house. I wonder how many local farangs in Ban Khorad will have to lock up their Thai wives once the casino opens on their doorstep.
