Where to buy a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable in Chiang Mai ?

You could try an Apple store. Some of the mac books use mini DP.

I use a miniDP to vga adaptor to connect to the projectors at work.

I bought one ages ago at Technocom in Chiang Rai. It was 900 baht.

Now, I buy them from ebay at about 300 baht including shipping.

I connect and disconnect 2 or 3 times a day to different projectors and monitors, so I need to replace the adaptor every 6-12 months (and I always have a spare in my desk).

If you're not in a hurry, I'd get it from ebay. Will probably take 5 or 6 weeks with the postage from China.

I went out yesterday looking for a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter or cable and the only place I found one was in Winner at the back of Ikon. It was quite expensive so I just ordered one from eBay. It's not hard to find mini DisplayPort to HDMI as these,as pointed out above, are used for Macs but again still cheaper to buy from eBay if you are not in a hurry.

I think you have already found the best place to buy - unless you're in a hurry.

You may find that cable in CM but you will likely have to hunt for it and equally likely it will be ridiculously expensive.

I see that the ebay seller you linked to is shipping from Shenzhen (within 1 day). Having a value under THB1000, it will sail through customs and be delivered to your door in 7-10 days.

Thanks for your answers,

for the sake of this thread completeness, i need THIS specific cable (no hdmi or vga or dvi), because it's the only way to connect a "PC" wqhd monitor on os x 10.9.2. see here for details http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/122963/external-display-limited-to-1080p-after-10-9-2-update

Actually, with VGA/HDMI adapter I max at 2048x1152

Was hoping that someone has saw or bought one in Chiang Mai, but I guess i ll have to find my way online.

Did you find a high res monitor here in Thailand? I have been looking for similar, but didnt find anything.

Care to share some info about the screen if its purchased here in Thailand?

Cheers

According to Wikipedia, the resolution depends on which version of HDMI you are using, I guess that means the cable as well as the ports. I've never seen the version of HDMI specified on either VGA cards, laptops or TV but often on cables.

I bought one of those in Bangkok a couple days ago to connect my monitor. It was pretty difficult to find, but I tracked one down at Fortune Town eventually -- 790b
