Lite Beer
BANGKOK POLLMost people happy with the juntaTHE SUNDAY NATION BANGKOK: -- But three quarters of respondents said that the country has many problems that need to be solvedA new poll has suggested a large majority of people are satisfied with the performance of the National Council for Peace and Order during its four months in power. The nationwide survey of 1,626 people was conducted by Dusit Poll about public opinion towards the coup-makers after they took over power on May 22. The survey was conducted over the five days until Friday. The poll surveyed people's satisfaction and found that 53.6 per cent were "quite satisfied" with the junta's performance while 39 per cent said they are "very satisfied" - this added up to 91.6 per cent who are at least "satisfied" with the performance over the past four months. Some 6 per cent said they were not satisfied because many social problems were still not solved, while 2 per cent were unsatisfied because too much power has been concentrated with the central government and this could lead to problems because certain decisions and rules cannot apply to all social groups. There were several topics that participants were asked about.'Creating stability, discipline'On general opinions about the NCPO's administration, close to 80 per cent said it did well to supervise and create stability and discipline in society, while 76 per cent said there were many problems that needed to be solved and the administration was under heavy public scrutiny. Popular Post ClutchClark
I am happy with the Junta and I think the General has accomplished quite alot in a short time. Many of the complaints from TV members have been amongst those accomplishments. Its great to have an interim PM that is actually concerned for the Country of Thailand more than his and his cronies' wallets.
Popular Post Roadman
Travelling around Thailand over last few weeks (Cities and rural, central, north and Isaan) the best thing that I have seen the Junta has done has been the removal of all the Shinawatra First Family portraits and banners. The amount of politicial brain washing of the masses that was going on with that garbage was astonishing and IMHO a direct insult to the long established and most worthy only true family in Thailand. Its a pleasure now travelling through Thailand and seeing it freed of the Shinawatra mafia family dictatorial ideology. Well done to the Junta for freeing Thailand from the Shinawatra scum. And those that did are going to say ""Very or extremely Happy…when ticking the choices" They aint going to no ""Re-Education Camp " Tick the "happiness box" I'm not saying they are not doing a great job, only that it would be impossible to gauge from a poll like this. I don't bother to concern myself with Thai politics as I don't have a vote and my opinions are for the most part unwanted. To be fair though, its not hard to improve on having two camps of people sat around wanting to kill each other in the nations capital. Glad to see both sides removed and if it take big brother to do it, then so be it. Edited September 28, 2014 by JeremyBowskill

ClutchClark
Lets just say its doubtful the results reflect a reliable record of the facts. My wife is from an extended family of rice farmers and have communicated to me they are happy with the Junta.Although its difficult for me to interpret specifically, the gist seems to be the feeling of a morale deterioration or absence of respect has been reversed (morale being my word). halloween
How many were too scared to take part in this poll? Little to no point in having a poll if people are too scared to answer, clearly it will say only 1 thing. Oh please. do you think pollsters ask for ID, and/or are accompanied by armed "assistants"? There are far easier ways to sway a poll by asking leading questions or "adjusting" the results. FYI

Why not? With such dedicated, skilled, incorruptible, and, let's all admit it, 'good' men in charge, surely anything is possible.

Popular Post Zooheekock
^^ Anybody who thinks that the - frankly absurd - claim that "91.6 per cent are at least "satisfied" with the performance over the past four months" is even in the same galaxy as the truth needs to check in to a mental hospital without delay. Very impressive numbers indeed. - 53.6% - Quite satisfied. - 39% - Very Satisfied (92.6, not 91.6) - 6% - Not satisfied (social problems) - 2% - Unsatisfied (too much power) Total of 100.6% ... and that doesn't include all the people that say "I don't know", which is usually around 5%.

Zooheekock
These pieces should have a little health warning at the end: "If you find this story believable, do not drive or operate machinery. If the condition continues, seek medical help. Please show your doctor this nonsense before you explain your symptoms."
Popular Post robblok
Its nice to seer former red supporters suggesting that people were put a gun to the head to answer positively. Most Thais that I know are happy with the junta but then again they were against the Shins before. Let us not forget the PTP never had a real majority percentage wise so its quite possible that most people are happy. I think a lot of people are happy the red villages are gone and all the pictures of Taksin are gone. No more brainwashing as an other poster called it no more forced to vote red or face the consequences. Be sure that there was a lot of pressure on people to vote the Shin way in the north or else the red maffia would come by. We seen how handy they were with bombs and guns. Also a lot of people don't have to pretend to like them as there is no money flowing anymore. An other thing is the junta stopped the protests and that made many people happy. So yes this poll could be quite true.

Its laughable what the people here suggest, like there are death camps and black prisons and stuff. Ah the former red shirts do need to make things up of course to defend the declining popularity of their mafia clan. Zooheekock
So yes this poll could be quite true. Despite the fact that the numbers don't add up? OK. And even discounting that, if these figures were approximately true, millions of PT voters/UDD supporters would have to have moved over to supporting dictatorship. Do you think that's likely? Really? OK, you can believe any fairy tale you like but if you do, you might like to consider the post above yours.
