Siriraj Hospital develops a cure for the Ebola virus

BANGKOK, 29 September 2014 (NNT) - A team of doctors from Siriraj Hospital have reportedly made a groundbreaking discovery by being the first in the world to develop a vaccine to cure the deadly Ebola virus.

Doctors from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University have conducted a thorough research on ways to treat patients infected with Ebola. The team was able to develop a special kind of vaccine that would produce antibodies to cure the Ebola virus.

A press conference to announce the medical breakthrough is set for October 2, 2014 on the 2nd Floor, Room A201, of the Srisavarinthira Building. The press conference will be presided by Doctor Udom Kachintorn, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.

So far, the Ebola outbreak has claimed thousands of lives globally and has a tendency to spread across other nations. As there was no known cure for Ebola, the doctors at Siriraj Hospital have made it an important priority to develop a vaccine for the virus.

I hope they did find the cure and not ridicule themselves on the international stage.

100 cases or 101 cases, does it really matter?coffee1.gif

Why wait until Thursday with the pressconference, when ebola claims about 100 lives each day?

Cured for a viral infection? The first word that springs to mind is <deleted>.

The next thought is that I hope it is the media that has misquoted the hospital, because, if not, they are bigger fools than I thought.

They didn't say they were the first.

A team of doctors from Siriraj Hospital have reportedly made a groundbreaking discovery by being 'the first' in the world to develop a vaccine to cure the deadly Ebola virus.

Always thinking that they are better off than all other countries or foreigners. But what to expect from a semi-civilisation that is only a couple of decades old plus the modern world and technology is really too much for them.

"According to its report, researchers at Siriraj Hospital have developed the world's first vaccine that can cure infected patients."

Wow!!! This must be record time for developing the vaccine, conducting blind studies with various control groups, fully examine side effects and monitor the efficacy over an extended period of time...or...is that procedure only for inferior farang pharmaceutical companies who lack the knowledge. Unlike Thailand that always gets it right the first time. Let's hope it is better than their knock off Gucci bags. wai2.gif wai2.gif wai2.gif
