Read Thaiger and Pattaya Mail story and no mention of cost. Maybe get the Police to actually do some effective Patrolling and not hide behind a video screen remote operating a drone. Seriously if they can't see the thousands of Thais not wearing helmets but catch the Foreigners how can you expect them to use this effectively. Sorry to say but unless someone in Authority is putting pressure on the Boys in Brown to execute than it will be a new tech gadget to play with that will probably be crashed, blown away in the wind, or broken and take a long time to repair. -

In a clarifying statement, Pattaya officials note that only observation drones, bomber drones, and kamikaze drones will be used. Flame thrower drones will not be used due to the hazards inherent in fire. -

THat is a good question, not sure about the answer. When I was in the Armed Forces in Canada, one of the duties we were trained for was called "aid to civil power". This covered everything from helping in natural disasters to civil unrest. In practical terms, it meant helping old people shovel out their driveways after blizzards.... but we DID get trained in how to operate in urban areas during civil disorder. As for the US Army and National Guard, YMMV. -
