One-time package forwarding from the US

Featured Replies

A friend wants to order some electronic gear from the States but the company won't ship to Thailand. I have my own mail forwarder that I offered to let him use, but he wants to set up something for himself.

Within the last month there was a thread about one-time package forwarding from the US. Someone posted a link to an excellent company that offered both one-time use and yearly accounts. I guess my search skills are pretty poor as when I went looking for it, I drew a blank. I found plenty of companies when I did a Google search, but not the same one that was posted here. And THAT one looked to be perfect for his needs.

Can someone please point me at that thread, or link to the shipper?

Thanks.

Shipito.com is good for yearly. They do one-time, but the verification process is cumbersome.

Bear in mind also that some companies will not ship to freight forwarders. There are ways around this, but at a cost. Shipito has a buyer's service, Shopito.com for this.

The verification process involves uploading identification documents and things like a utility bill. Wiring money to them is also an option.

All this is explained on their website. They have a forum that is worth perusing.

People who go to the website and want to set something up that day are frequently disappointed. Patience.

However, once you get through that, they are excellent.

Thanks! This is the one that I had in mind. I'll pass the link along to him, but I'll leave out the sign-up difficulties. He's easily turned off by bureaucracy. Thanks gain.

Thanks for the link. This one looks interesting, but I think it's the one above that will work best for him. On the other hand, who knows? I guess I'll pass both along and let him choose for himself!

There are Thais living in the USA who offer this service quite cheap. You order the products and have them shipped to the people in the States. When they have enough items then they are forwarded to Thailand by freight and someone in Bangkok ships them out by Thai Post. The g/f has had a number of items sent this way. Same deal in China....numerous Thais there offering the service. I asked her for a U.S. contact and she said the lady she had been using for the last 5 years just returned to Thailand. But she said there are several others, just google or search on facebook in Thai language of course.
