Hi. My bro is coming with gf.

They in late 20.

Bro been Pattaya before visit me.

Gf never.

Bro not want she see too much sex scene and that, so he takes her to islands.

They come for 2 weeks.

Plan is Bkk 3 days then some island then visit me Pattaya 3 or 4 days.

I only been Phuket Samet and krabi.

I want some island experts opinion where to send them...

I dont want it to be just sea and sand, but some civilization so they can still go shooping not get bored.

Im thinking Samui but not sure cuz never been there.

Is there nice beaches in samui? Bro loves big bikes can rent some kawasaki there? And go around?

Or just Phuket got it all?

But then again phuket beaches not that good?

Ps..

No Koh Tao thx

Don't listen to the gloom and doom mongers, although I can understand why now is not the best time to visit Koh Tao. Phuket is the biggest island and offers the widest choices. I'd start there and take trips to smaller islands if you want to. Alternatively try Koh Chang which has good beaches and nice waterfalls. Enjoy!

Tell them to go somewhere safer. Tell them to go somewhere where there is a rule of law.

Ahhhhhhhh, you mean somewhere like Greece?

PS. Please members don't be too hard on me......only an old man speaking............

And somewhere where their money is safe as well ..... Oh that was Cyprus .... Only joking with you Costas :-)

You can easily rent a big bike here on Samui.

Proffered route is the extended ring-road, a couple of hours will take you around.

Nightlife is in Chaweng, romantic place is fisherman's village in Bophut.

Excellent beaches all round the Island.

Developed?

Chaweng has three malls, with Central Festival as newest one.

When are they coming?

Average rainfall Samui

Samui is a nice island. Has a new Central Festival shopping mall, different beaches to check out, plenty of things to do and see. I like it, but it is crowded and has gotten quite expensive over the years. It's got a very active nightclub scene and a few monster places are now right on the beach for all night madness. It's the worst place to rent a bike. More accidents and deaths occur there than anywhere else in Thailand, with regards to tourists. If he rides a bike, make sure he has insurance to cover this. Most policies don't. Plus, KPN and Tao are just a short boat ride away. If they have the time, they might like to check out these places also.

Phuket is also nice. Big island with lots of different places to stay. Lots to do and see, as you probably already know. After these two, not many other places have the combo of shopping, nightlife and beaches.

If you look at other countries, then maybe Malaysia or Vietnam might appeal to them??? Cheap airfares to get there...

Less bars right

Only in Chaweng and Lamai.

Plenty of quit spots around the Island.

To avoid red light scene, consider Fisherman's village, Meanam or Choengmon.

Nothing wrong with Samui or Koh Phangan, each of them have nice beaches and not all areas are full of party animals! ..... Prices a little more on KP for food etc... but it varies around Samui.... Fisherman's Village and Chawang are generally more expensive than say Maenam... and other nice areas...

I am sure riding a bike on Phuket is no different than Samui or Koh Phangan, if you have road sense being aware and not driving under the influence...

If people hang around with drunks and fools trouble probably awaits anywhere.... but it is easy to avoid! thumbsup.gif

I would suggest looking at some images of Samui and KP here!

Personally, I don't like Samui for bikes as there are too many concrete roads. If he wants to leave Samui for the mainland, he will have to get a ferry, Phuket is much better, more to do and see, connected by a bridge to the mainland so easy to leave, easy to hire bikes, some even with full insurance others without any. If he is adventurous, may want to ride somewhere like Khao Sok, or Ranong for some fantastic roads. both only a easy 1/2 day ride away, both worth staying at least for couple of days. Maybe they will want to see both or ride even further away.

I would suggest around Nai Harn way if he likes nice beaches, and not near the sex scene.

If he wants to see a nice small Island Koh Phayam is quiet or Small Koh Chang even quieter, both near Ranong, but then would need to leave the bike in Ranong as there is only a speed boat . or small ferry.. Not refering to Koh Chang Trat.

I would do the shopping in Bangkok and if he wants to stay away from the sex scene, stay away from Pattaya.

For the life of me, I can not understand why young man in his late 20's, would bring his girlfriend to Thailand and try to avoid the red light areas.

Implied-Facepalm.jpg

He visited me alone twice in pattaya. Had good fun.

Now time to tame gf for holiday.

So he dont want she see pattaya cuz she be like ah so thats where u been coming u know what i mean. Life mate. ..

To quote Aussiebrian....... "Too many concrete roads on Samui " ? facepalm.gifAre the roads else where made of soft foam? tongue.pngfacepalm.gif

These guys are coming for two weeks, which will go too quickly .... not a lot of time to try and see everything.... as the saying goes, "Same Same but different" around Thailand, ... people can choose to hit the bar areas or find great quiet and relaxing places to stay..... within close proximity.

There are many places whether it be Samui, Koh Phangan, or probably even Phuket.... (I've not been there) .... Even Khoa Lak or Khoa Sok are nice.... It can depend on timing of visit, whether the weather is good, that does vary in different areas...

But it is not that difficult to move on if an area does not suit... even just a few miles can make a huge difference !!!. wink.png

Phuket i think be good choice. As more to see and do

Any nice beach to stay? Not too far from civilization?

As was mentioned above, Kata/Karon are not far from the main Patong area. Kamala is an area I like also.
