which is faster/cheaper/less hasssle?

And a political question...

Why has getting a China visa become so much more expensive and a bit of a hassle compared to ten years ago? Does China not want tourists?

non US citien from Anglo nation

What is all this in aid of? And what is the relevance of this secret country being an "Anglo nation," whatever that is meant to imply. They tend to charge based on nationality, not language spoken.

Probably s decision made after seeing the sort of people who flock to Thailand and other countries with low visa fees.

Suradit69 asks 'What is this in aid of" Spending less money. I am on a tight budget. Perhaps my question was misundertood. So, I will be charitable and presume this is not one of the impolite members from Khmer440 trying to start an argument... I am in Cambodia. I am shortly going to Vietnam. I would like to visit China soon. I can apply here (in Cambodia) or there (in Vietnam). But I cannot apply in the nation that issued me its chains (passport, that every nation-state has been requiring for over a hundred years) because I want to visit China before I go 'home'. At the best price of course and with minimimal hassle. "What is the relevance of this secret country being an "Anglo nation". Good point, I should clarify. I meant a generally easy to get a visa country (Anglophone) with a good international reputation that is not the USA. I understand that China is charging citizens of the USA high prices out of some sort of reciprocal action. I do not like to blabber about precisely what is my citizenship. Suradit68 adds the comment which I take to be a criticism and unnecessary to the harmonious functioning of this board, " the sort of people who flock to Thailand and other countries with low visa fees." Sorry if I do not belong to the millionaire's club. Visa fees can add up in my experience. Suradit69, I like your signature. Perhaps some reading of Ambrose Pierce is in order.
