So why s long to get THEIR results....? After that round of testing, they police still hadn't had a match. He seems to be just analysing publicly available information from a distance. His leads may not all be correct but he is certainly raising some interesting points and one would think the police would thank him for his efforts. They can't see past a router which is the best firewall that the average person can have. It is a computer, and the only computer on that network that can use or be seen by the internet. If you live in an apartment building that has shared WiFi, your IP address is assigned by the router's internal DHCP server and your IP isn't internet routable. It can go only as far as the router which is called the "default gateway" (to the internet) and the router has the only internet routable IP address in the building. It forwards all internet traffic using its external IP address which is assigned by the ISP. So if the BiB went to the ISP and had them look at their logs, they could probably tell who had the IP address at the time of the post. But that would take them only to a building. After that they'd have to analyze each internal computer to try to figure out which one made the post.
