Hi i had to do my 90 day report last september 23. It is a marriage visa.

Does anyone know what the result of this might be.

I don't care if i get fined only if i get problems holding the visa

Posted

oh that's a big relief to hear. Thank you, and sorry if the question was asked before, but the forum is so full with visa questions i don't know where to look anymore. lol

Thanks again. will go there monday

Posted

sorry but it is not a marriage visa, but an extension of stay based on being married to a Thai, and therefore you will get fined, if it was a visa then that would be a different thing altogether.

That is a very lenient policy then, isn't it?

Makes me wonder if anyone went over 180 days without reporting. Would that be 4000? I suppose that would be ok, as long as they did not revoke your extension, or worse.

And also maybe pray to higher "power" that the police dosent catch you as well... Not sure what happens really...

But your question about 2x2000 baht was really interesting!!! Will I be fined double if I miss 2 of these 90 day-reports??

It normally is only 2000 baht no matter how late your are reporting.

The max fine is 5000 baht plus 200 baht for every day you do not do the report.

From immigration act. Immigration Act 2522 en.pdf

'Section 76 : Any alien, alien, who fails to comply with the provisions of Section 37(2),(3),(4)or(5) shall be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 Baht and with and additional fine not exceeding 200 Baht for each day which passes until the law is complied with."

132,000 baht fine got a expat abt 7 years ago.

Link please ?

And how is that possible ? If he was on a extension of stay which is 365 days then an Easy Calculation

365 * 200 = 73.000 + 5000 (initial fine) + maybe another 5000 that would make it 80k+

But then again TiT

Just happened to me this summer.

I thought i was on time, they said i was one day late.

Cost me 2000baht for the one day.blink.png

I smiled, paid the 2000, thanked them and left.

65 bucks isnt worth arguing (or being an ass) over.

i paid 4500 baht, i was late 1 week! My Thai husband went with my passport and he had to pay up. We even got a receipt. This was not BKK but Sri Racha immigration. I was 7 days late on the 3 month control. I thought it was allowed to be a few days late. Apparently not so

I was late on one 90 day report early last year (from memory about 2 weeks), I went to immigration with cap in hand and told them straight up I was late in reporting having lost all the dates in my phone diary due to a phone melt-down and this was the first time in 13 years to be late, the immigration guy looked me over, had a good look thru' my passport and said "Ok, late is late and you should be fined, but this time I will let it pass - make sure you don't do it again" I've now instigated a back up system for all important dates - just to be on the safe side.

I applied for my 90 days report, 2 weeks before the due date (on August 19th.) by registered mail with all the proper documents and stamped return envelope.

Up until today I never got anything back from them.

Any idea what will happen?

Ubonjoe are you sure this is the latest update for Immigration?? This means that it hasn't been updated for the last 35 years!!

Seems to me that somewhere recently during the expansion of immigration offices around Thailand there where some updating to the provisions of reporting every 90 days either 7 days before or after is acceptable for one's appointed 90 day reporting date. I've never encountered any problems with either the LopBuri or Korat office regarding this. Thanks!

QUESTION:

I left the country and came back, so am i right in thinking my 90 day report will now be 90 days after i came back in? not since my last actual 90 day report?

y

Yes, your clock resets when you leave and re-enter.

You can be 7 days late and there should not be any fine.

Were you 8 days late perhaps?

Posted

yep, on the 8th day.My reporting day was during finals,

and i didnt want to leave the school during exams.

I thought i was on time but i was wrong.

But as a previous poster noted, I could have done it 2 weeks prior to that date.

lessons learned!

( A 2000 baht lesson, as i told another person at the Imm. Office)

That is just the fines set by the immigration act of 1979 and there have been no changes to it since then. Section 37 states you can do the report within a few days.

Immigration policy allows 15 days before or 7 days after including the report date in the count.

The fine should of only been 2000 baht. You can report 7 days late but you have to be careful how you count the 7 days.

Immigration will often include the report date in the count so it is in reality it is only 6 days.

Did you check tracking to see if it was delivered? http://track.thailandpost.com/trackinternet/Default.aspx?lang=en

You should contact immigration about your report. It states on the website to check with them if you have not gotten your receipt back within 30 days.

As long as you have the receipt to prove you mailed it you will not be fined.
