BANGKOK, Oct 14 -- Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha asserted that the British government has no doubt regarding Thailand's investigation of the murder of two British tourists on Surat Thani's Ko Tao island last month.

In addition, he ordered the tourism and interior ministry to regulate the Full Moon Party.

Gen Prayut, also the chief of the National Council for Peace and Order denied the report that the British government summoned the Thai charge d'affaires in London to inquire about the Ko Tao case.

He said that the Thai authorities offered to explain the issue and the British government had no doubt.

The arrest of the suspects was supported with strong evidence including reliable scientific evidence, Gen Prayut said.

He ordered the ministers of tourism and sports and interior to keep the Full Moon Party in compliance with rules, especially those concerning party hours and drug abuse. He also told the relevant authorities to emphasize the quantity and quality of tourists to prevent problems.

Regarding his participation this week in the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit in Milan, Italy on Thursday and Friday, Gen Prayut said he would ask the international community to solve trade, economic, environmental, climate and water problems. (MCOT online news)

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha asserted that the British government has no doubt regarding Thailand's investigation of the murder of two British tourists .

I'm sure they don't Mr Prime Minister, that's why yesterday they summoned your man in London, stressing "there was a real concern in the UK about how the investigation has been handled by the Thai authorities, and are meeting again today to discuss the RTP's handiwork.

They have no doubts, so they are trying to give you a chance to save Face.

I'd take it.

When the news came out that a senior Thai diplomat had been summoned to the Foreign Office in London to hear British concerns about the case, several people said "now wait for the general to answer that the Brits think everything is OK". And sure enough, right on cue....

It's looking worse and worse. No matter what anybody seems to say, the face savers plough ever onward with their fitting up of the two Burmese, Thai obstinacy at its worst.

Now this guy is speaking for the UK government. Another thread said that the UK summoned Thailand's rep in the UK. Who to believe? This is fun! w00t.gif

This is on the BBC site: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-29604685

The Thai charge d'affaires has been summoned to the UK Foreign Office over concerns about the inquiry into the murders of two British tourists.

I guess the UK government now "understands" the situation...
