Confusion over Thai Smile departure

Featured Replies

the other day i booked a flight from bangkok to ubon with thai smile for november - the departure code is BKK which I assume to mean Suvarnabhumi as the other departure code is DMK. but i thought Thai smile were switching all flights to don muang

not all, just some. they operate from both airports now (stupid decision in my eyes, as at DMK they face strong competition from the likes of TAA, NOK and LION)

stupid decision in my eyes

Very stupid. From Khon Kaen all Smile flights go to DMK.

Only two ThaiAirways flights to BKK left.

A mess.

In the future they will probably move all Smile flights to DMK.

If you booked for November: check your booking regularly.

They are always good for a surprise.

Here in KK they changed booked flights with 8 days advance notice in the press (at the begin of August).

No e-mail, no SMS information.

and I forgot to add:

even more stupid is that those THAI SMILE flights do not carry a TG flight number or codeshare number anymore, which means you cannot even earn miles or status with Thai Smile anymore - so another reason to fly Thai Smile has faded into thin air..... I always thought Philippine Airlines has the most pathetic management in the world, now I am sure that the THAI management can compete with them - since the departure of the very capable Piyasvati Anranand, who was fired because of political reasons, THAI made virtually EVERY mistake and wrong decision that was possible....
