Change Smartphone Screen in Thailand, Bangkok MBK Phone Repair Screen Change ? Experience ? Bad ?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Anybody has experience about changing Samsung touchscreen on mobile ?

As must as I can read online people always have problems with cheaper Chinese screen like the ones sold at MBK, do you confirm ?

So the only solution is to buy a real authentic touchscreen from Samsung at the same price as a new telephone ?

Thank you.

I can only speak for iPads....I got mine replaced at MBK last year and no drama. Maybe Samsung is a different proposition.

How old is your phone? Better to go to an official Samsung Service Centre.

You can get non-genuine screens installed at MBK or many repair shops around Thailand but they will probably NOT be Gorilla Glass and the underlaying digital touch matrix will probably be inferior.

I had a replacement screen installed on a generic tablet at Pantip Plaza and the replacement touchscreen was way inferior to the original. Had to touch an Icon repeatedly to activate the app and finger swipes often did not register. So frustrating to use I ended up binning the device.

I dropped my S4, and had the screen replaced at Zeer Rangsit for 2,400 Baht - Samsung quoted 8,500.

6 weeks later the screen completely closed, and I took it to Samsung, and they said there was so much glue inside it was irreparable. The original place we went to agreed that it was irreparable.

I decided to fork out for a new S5.

If I were you, I wouldn't hesitate to get a repair from Samsung, at half the cost - if that is the case - of the original.

Either that, or write it off, and upgrade as I did. The new levels of damage, drop testing and water-proofing are much superior, and worth the little extra. I sold my S4 for 4,000 as a spare parts phone, in addition.
