See Toby Alderweireld's agent is stirring for a better new deal for him or for a move. He's only on 50k so you can see why he's not happy when he sees the deal say Walker has moved for. Etihad bound?

A few observations here.

Alderweireld would improve your team far more than Walker so unlikely we would be keen to sell to you.

He'll be 29 next summer so no resale value for a buying club.

His current contract runs until 2020.

Personally I would like to see him sign a new deal at Tottenham as he is a fantastic defender....we shall see!

How long do you think Spurs can carry on paying players so little (in comparison to other clubs) Ronnie? They will obviously know the huge increase in revenue that all the clubs in the Prem get and they will surely want a slice of it.

When the books will balance the wages will rise at the Lane.

Difficult one for me really mrboj as imho ticket prices and wages should be dropping rather than rising.

In terms of keeping our best players it had better be soon though!

ESPN is reporting he has a contract till 2019 with AN OPTION of one more year till 2020.

The option to extend is Tottenham's with the caveat of a 25m quid release clause.

So to recap...we keep him until he is 31 on the current deal and then sell him to you for 25m.

Not bad business.

Can we have him for 50m?

Alderweireld will either get a major improvement on his contract terms from Spurs OR he'll be away to a suitor. If you were him would you stay on 50k when others are getting significantly more...think we all know the answer.

Stop getting so excited BB, he's not going to you or anyone else, of course Spurs are going to increase his wages and if they didn't he won't be going anywhere soon as has  2+1 year left on his contract.

How good was that 1st half display? Best under Pep? Emphatic victory last night, couldn't fault a player. Again very impressed with Jesus and kdb.

Yeah BB. Extremely happy with that performance. Bit lucky for the first goal but they all count.

A nice quote from Jamie Redknapp on KdB and one I think most people would find hard to argue with. The lad is top class.

Quote

'Imagine you could start a Premier League team from scratch and sign any player,' Redknapp wrote in his column for Sportsmail this week. 'Kevin De Bruyne would be my first pick — Pep Guardiola is turning him into the complete midfield player.'

In the great 60s/70s Bell Lee Summerbee side the unsung hero was Alan Oakes - who? some of you are thinking (he holds City's most appearances record). In the recent two Premier winning sides the unsung player who held us together and gave Yaya licence to roam was Garry Barry. I always felt we released him a season too early. Excellent service to City and every club he's played for.

"Gareth Barry will equal the Premier League appearance record held by Ryan Giggs on Saturday should he feature for West Bromwich Albion against West Ham at The Hawthorns. His 632nd top-flight appearance comes 19 years after his debut for Aston Villa at Sheffield Wednesday and follows 365 Premier League games for the Midlands club, 132 games for Manchester City, 131 for Everton and three so far for his new club."

Interestingly, Barry has had more yellow cards than anyone else in the history of the premier league.

Not one of Vince's dozen appearances today then.

Crazy approach really....its going to cost you this season against quality opposition.
