Made call this morning. When later call came Screen showed only stripes. But after few minutes sorted itself out. Screen normal. Phone 2 years old. New screen or phone?

Not sure if this problem is recurring but if it is try turning the phone off, removing the battery, removing the SIM, reinstall the SIM, battery and re-start.

If the problem persists, try a factory reset.

Could be a glitch in the proximity detector, but not enough detail provided to even remotely hazard a guess.

What model?

Has anything changed recently? Dropped the phone, added new software, did a system update, etc?

Screens and digitizers can be replaced, wither with OEM parts or lower-cost alternatives, but repair costs might be 75% of the current value.

75% says it all. No drop, nothing ever changed. It's a S. DUOS

That is a 2 SIM model? Are you currently using two SIMs?

It might just be a one time glitch, but 2 years warrant new phone.

I have a similar problem with my galaxy note. Bending pressure on the screen causes the error, it will give the colored thin lines after the screen will turn black.

Restarting the phone solves the problem, but it is a recurring issue.

I have a cracked screen on my note 2 (digitizer is ok, touch still works, etc). Wifi antenna doesnt work, and power button works intermittently.

New screen for Samsung phones usually cost 6000-10000 according to Samsung.

S Duos was quoted +- 7000
