Moderators please can you give the venerable scholar Joel Barlow his very own section of the forum.

It should be dedicated to his rambling one-way monologue. Initial Reports suggest that up to a dozen thaivisa readers are suffering eye-strain and are being administered to by Bumungrad staff.

Many of thaivisa members are becoming infuriated with this mammoth-like drival and tripe. Yes it is, some would say relevant but it would be better suited to a book or magazine article than the forum, where long post reading becomes very boring (unless its red-hot).

A good title could read ' Joelanory ' Or ' Joels Place ' (being generous on that one!).

His section doesn't have to take pride of place at the top or middle on thaivisa, somewhere at the rock-bottom of the forum will do. Indeed the thaivisa foundations would probably go on to shoulder a lifetime of data given joels thread sizes of what may be blasted in there! :o

If you have a problem with a members posting styles, i suggest you talk to them about it, this is best done via PM.

Whilst your request is very noble, i very much doubt George would be willing to grant your wish.

Also, in case you were not aware, there is an "Ignore" feature, which is really great because it means you never see a post/topic/contribution from the 'ignored' member ever again! (wish i could use it sometimes, but it kinda defeats the object of being a moderator!)

Or a rule limiting the size of any one post similar to the size of avatar rule?

It is true, the length of some of Joels posts are way over the top and very forum unfriendly. When people complain he calls them "cry babies".

The one I saw was in the CR Forum so concerms regarding that post should be first directed to moderator Limbo.

Does he write these posts himself or just copy and paste?

Joel, are you listening?

If you have a problem with a poster either bring it up with him or her or direct a PM to the moderator of the forum.

I,ve heard of a Ken Barlow but he,s on a soap in the U.K.

Come to think of it, it may be the perfect situ for some of the stuff we get to read on the different threads.

Only joking..........................................................................

Do you mean JRingo??? :o

Hey dude, JRingo rocks!

Read a couple of his posts, he had some bad karma, but his comments on the sex-trade are spot on.

He made a few naive dudes listen up to what's happening behind the scenes.

Ol Barlow rocks as well, but he's kindda droning on a bit, likes to listen to himself, but it's all good stuff.

He's on a good trip.

:D

Step away from the kool-aid and take a taste of reality.

If you had actually read the thread, you'd see that most of his comments were quickly and easily discredited by people who actually know what they are talking about. :o

But don't let the truth and the facts dissuade you. Better to believe in second hand hearsay and unsubstantiated rumours.

As for the OP, I think some people missed the tone of the post. I think it was meant to be sarcastic and "tongue in cheek". Hard to tell without the appropriate use of smileys. :D

But it's all good in the end. Or not. Well, "up to you" I guess. What ever. :D

That is a funny (odd) thing to say.

I haven't heard anyone here "who actually knew what they were talking about"

You should be quiet until you walk a mile in my shoes.
