Right after I bought my first Nikon F w/[email protected] saw a shot. Hefted the thing up to my eye ready to

grab said shot...looked in the VF & everything was black. Panic set in, looked at the top plate &

dials, looked at the aperture ring & moved it left & right. My best friend was laughing heaps & also

loudly...I hefted the camera back up to my eye & looked in the VF...everything still black....started

swearing....friend laughing more....forgot to remove the lens cap. Felt as though I needed a 10

foot ladder to get to the top of a penny. Of course I missed the shot! Same friend arrives this coming

Saturday. When he's not on assignments with his cameras, he does gigs for Nikon USA giving demo's

of Nik's pro kit. He still asks me if I've removed the lens cap whenever he wants to mess with my head

just before a shot....
