Driving lessons in english in Buri Ram?

Hey!

Does anyone know if there exists a driving school for english speakers? Have no driver liscense but feel it would be good to have one when staying in Thailand, eventhough it may not be the best place to start up a driving- "career" considering Thailand has the nr 2 most fatal card accidents in the world :). Interested in taking driving lessons from school or private teacher.

Do you want an instructor to help you pass the test? Or because you want to learn to be a better driver?

As the practical part of the test itself is really easy. Admittedly my wife and I both failed the practical on our first attempt (then passed the following day), but as neither of us had really driven before, and only had 2-3h practice each driving & parallel parking around my school, we concluded that passing isn't of a challenge.

The theory section was also super easy, they made us study for 3h, which wasn't particularly helpful for me (watch a video (in Thai) listen to a lecturer (in Thai) read a book (in Thai)), yet still easily passed.

Although I heard they've since made the theory section more difficult in response to Thailand having the 3rd highest road toll per capita.

If you simply want to become a better driver, then try to get an instructor, but if you just want to pass the test, then if you just practice yourself in a secluded area and you should be ok.

The practical test, when I did it, had 3x sections:

1/ Parallel park between some cones.

2/ Drive in a straight line, then reverse in a straight line (Some ppl failed this, I don't know how)

3/ Stop at a stop sign, close to the curb & with your front tyre at the line they've indicated earlier.

If you can survive in Thailand traffic, you will qualify as the best driver in the west.

I am very fond of living, hence Id like to have good training by a good instructur before I even would consider drivning a Car myself :) I am sure that passning a test here would be easy but I d prefer to use My own judgment and that of an experienced instructur as to When I am ready which is not When an average thaidriver would get license I reckon:)

Time isnt the issue for me, safety is. Since I havent driven before Id really like good guidance . Thankful for suggestions.

Live in Riyadh. I'll never complain about driving in Thailand again. So mental here it makes Thailand seem like a piece of cake. See people do things on the road here I never thought I'd see. 729 doughnuts outside the local shop springs to mind.
