Fantastic!

Thanks for sharing this.

What are your plans for the future?

1. Release the snake in the wild, at least 20km away.

2. Catch its mate. We had two geese disappear on 12th and 13th October respectively. Unlikely it was the same snake.

just a non constructive thought how did you find out that bulge was a goose ??

We didn't. It was an inference based on the following evidence:

The goose disappeared between 7 and 8 am this morning.

A trail was found through the grass leading to the snake.

The snake was caught.

A bulge corresponding to the size of the goose was apparent in the snake.

It had occurred to me that the snake might have taken a meal elsewhere and been a mere victim of circumstance, however, I think the chance is remote.

Don't kill it......

That long friend also eat rats and mouse

We won't kill it. It will be banished from the realm as punishment for goose-theft.

He got four geese within the last month - all beauties. :(

Excellent...amazing that the snake has the cognition to differentiate between bird species to eat. I'm sure the duck would have been an easier choice so it must really like the geese

So did Gargantua.

A friend lost a hen & 2 chicks to the same type of snake a month ago. He caught the snake & released it elsewhere. It regurgitated the meal en route.

A Jack Russell is currently AWOL a few hundred meters awaysmile.png

RIP to the geese. Just love them even if they are noisy and shit everywhere. Sorry for the snake even though I'm scared of them. You'd need to take him a long way from your home so he won't return.

There are a number of golf courses in my home state that are plagued with geese who would just love to borrow that snake for a month or two.....as long as it doesn't develop a taste for golf balls.

We caught a few of these snaked this year and now we lock up all of our birds during the night.

The biggest one was 3.5 meters and she ate four full size laying hens in one meal.

On the way to the mountain she also regurgitated all four birds.

We take them to Pala-u ,lots of wilderness there.

Congratulations, GF. Mighty glad you're releasing and not killing that snake. Sorry it got the geese, but even much happier you're releasing it.

Fantastic applause from me to you clap2.gifwai2.gif
