In addition if you try to help injured people, the Sawang Boriboon crew (in Pattaya) will get real angry as you are cutting in on their turf. If you are lucky, they will just shove you out of the way, but if less lucky, they will beat you.

Each area in Thailand has a "rescue foundation" and if anyone else cuts into their turf, it is war. They are all armed and they will shoot to protect their turf. It is best not to get involved.

No all of that just because I research and prepare myself and don't have to come on an internet site to ask people if it's a scam or not? Don't want to sit on the side of the road or go to a police station and educate a stupid cop about the Geneva convention, my time is worth more then that.

Fine, your choice.

But saying an IDP is required is simply not true.

I didn't say that so try again, this time try comprehending my posts..

In post 18 you question it, and later on, I think in post 25 or something, you say it used to be mandatory. Which is not true.

Nope, never did, just posted my own personal experiences. But you keep on comprehending the way you do, it seems to work for you anyway.

I don't care at all what you're implying, saying or retracting as long as is clear, even to you, that an IDP is not a legal requirement in Thailand, provided the original license is in English, has a photo and the country has an agreement with Thailand (which is nearly always the case).
