That aside, a senior policeman has died in very strange circumstance a couple days ago. 6 others have been removed from Senior roles allegedly for their political leanings. Allegedly to be replaced by those of a different political leaning.

What appears to be going on is a purge at some level. One side is imposing its will with force on the other. The most likely outcome unless power is shared back is a bleak one...

What one sees as an Expat here v what's actually going on is often 2 very different things. If you are seeing peace and happiness then I'd respectfully suggest you dig a bit deeper.

If you have business or other assets here you have some obligation to yourself and family to assess what's happening and how that might effect you. Instability is entirely possible here IMO...

You don't live under a Junta. You holiday in a dictatorship/junta and then you return to a democratic country whose passport you travel with. As for why so many people here express an interest in Thailand. I think you will find it is a Thai based forum. If you were on a forum dedicated to motor bikes, religion or knitting then that would be the subjects being debated. It's nice to see you getting around so much, having fun and enjoying the many things Thailand has to offer. So do I but it does not cause me to have a lobotomy or eraze my opinions.
