The cases from Phuket showed, that as long as you (a farang/an alien) work on a private house, boat, bike or car, and it’s not for sale later (meaning no fees paid or money changing hands), then it’s accepted/allowed. Don’t know if working for wife’s brother making his house can be considered as private, as it within “family” – perhaps also depending of how well you know your wife’s brother, and how well he is established with the police force...

Iv Got wife that does that , she goes to work and i stay at home i feel thats legal ,old age seems better than a OAP home

You need a work permit mate...Be careful.
