The most under rated band in the world ever, why this band isnt massive is beyond me.

Never heard of them, the greatest ever band was 'The Byrds' If you take musical and vocal ability into consideration. They had four lead singers.

Sorry to say i feel The Band did a much better job , especially the thread states Rock songs and her style was Folk but on tour with Dylan in the 70s as the Rolling Thunder Revue she murdered her cover of Martha & the vandellas Classic 60s hit "Dancin' in the Streets " terrible cover by her at The Warehouse in NOLA !

It was embarrassing for her to sound so Bad, but she knew it too ,by crowd reaction. This version by THE BAND is best....

Yes, this was great, what a beautiful voice she had.

The only west coast band worth listening to.

The Love "Forever Changes" LP.........had that and two other next releases and thought they were great.

Wasn't Arthur Lee, the lead singer, locked up for helping inject another band member/friend with heroin, which killed him??

A classic Southern Rock from Ozark Mountain Dare Devils , great harmonica solos !

Had "The car over the lake" LP from these guys and it had some good tracks on it.

And screaming Jay ....................................

Liar liar with your pants on fire, white spades hangin' on the telephone
Wire, gamblers reevaluate along the dotted line, you'll never recognize
Yourself on heartattack and vine.

Doctor lawyer beggar man thief, Philly Joe remarkable looks on in disbelief,
If you want a taste of madness, you'll have to wait in line, you'll probably
See someone you know on heartattack and vine.

Boney's high on china white, shorty found a punk, don't you know there ain't
No devil, there's just god when he's drunk, well this stuff will probably kill
You, let's do another line, what you say you meet me down on heartattack and
Vine.

See that little jersey girl in the see-through top, with the peddle pushers
Sucking on a soda pop, well I bet she's still a virgin but it's only twenty-
Five 'til nine, you can see a million of 'em on heartattack and vine.

Better off in iowa against your scrambled eggs, than crawling down cahuenga
On a broken pair of legs, you'll find your ignorance is blissful every goddamn
Time, your're waitin' for the RTD on heartattack and vine.

What were the lyrics to this, sitting on a park bench looking at the young girls with bad intent LOL

Yes, the song Aqualung (and the album cover), does have a dirty old man look-a-like of Ian Anderson at the age of 70, going down to the bog to warm his feet.

We had an outdoor privy when I was a nipper, took a while for the various bodily fluids to break the ice in the pan in mid winter, but enough of that....

They are/were unique -Jethro Tull, as Ian Anderson said, there weren't many rock bands with a flute player;.. myself,I liked a few of their numbers but I couldn't get used to their sudden switches of rhythm or acoustic to electric styles..

I remember in the early Thatcher years when Ian Anderson declared from his Scottish castle that he was a Tory voter and I thought what a rich b.......d, like Rick Wakeman with his flashy cars...., yet seeing both in interviews I have to hand it to them, they're intelligent dudes with a real love of rock music.

Another great early 70s number for dancing in the discos, (prior to disco music), an excellent chance to show off Mick Jagger skills, (pumping arm action, (vertically) with index finger thrust skywards)... Nice sing along too.
