KHON KAEN: -- Three workers suffered from smoke inhalation in a fire which broke out at a warehouse of Panasonic electrical appliances company in Khon Kaen before noon today.

Initial report said that the fire started at the yard of a warehouse storing electronic parts where forklifters were busily working. The fire quickly spread out as it engulfed the inflammable electronic parts making it difficult for workers trying to put off the fire with portable fire extinguishers.

About 20 fire trucks were rushed to the scene in Tambon Muang Wan, Nam Pong district of Khon Kaen.

Residents in the neighbourhood of the factory said they heard a few explosions before they smelled something burning.

There are about 3,000 workers working at the factory which is made up of three buildings.
