Foot doctor needed

Featured Replies

Both my feet swelled up for the first time two weeks ago. Went to the doc and he said from sitting too long at the computer so we did a blood test and chest xray and everything is ok but it is not getting better. Anyone know a good foot doc in Chiang Mai. Thanks.

I doubt if a foot doctor would be the first line for swollen feet.

Lie down for 20 minutes every hour or so, with your feet elevated above your heart and see how it goes.

Soak them in hot water four times a day for 20 minutes.

If you smoke, quit. Smoking causes a lot of foot circulation problems.

Here is one. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/717362-looking-for-a-podiatrist-recommendation/

If you simply search the TV forum ("foot doctor" or "podiatrist") there are many more posts listed.

There are no podiatrists (Doctor of Podiatric Medicine DPM) in Thailand, no medical schools of podiatric medicine, no programs within medical school in Thailand.

There are orthopedic surgeons throughout Thailand.

If you are taking blood pressure meds such as amlodipine, your feet will swell. very common side effect..

There is some German guy around Chiang Mai who claims to be a doctor of sorts for feet... IMHO I would opt for seeing a real doctor of medicine before letting this guy near me...

He's not a doctor. 100%.

You would choose to suffer in pain rather than let some one who knows some thing about the problem look at it.

I agree see a real doctor with the condition that the OP described but if they can't do it go see this fellow.

Many swear by licensed doctors yet go to see an acupuncturist or Chiropractor. Go figure
