Any problem for a Thai to travel to US from France?

Featured Replies

My girlfriend visited the US last year, traveling from BKK, with no problem. Now, we want to visit France, then go on to the US, returning to BKK. Will it be more difficult? She has a 10 year US visa.

Also, how difficult would it be to get a visa for a side trip to Canada?

Thanks in advance.

No problems travelling from France to the US, though she will need to get a Schengen Visa to cover her stay in France.

To get that she will need to apply via the TLS Contact Centre in Bangkok https://www.tlscontact.com/th2fr/login.php, she could in theory apply directly to the French Consulate.

She will need to provide proof of her travel plans, essentially hotel and flight details, proof of insurance and sufficient funds for her stay in the Schengen Area.

I don't know about the side trip to Canada, but with a US Visa, previous travel to the US and maybe a Schengen Visa, I don't see it as being a problem.

Old Git's got it right, with the 10-year U.S. visa travel is good from just about everywhere. And, yes, a Canadian visa will be needed but should be a shoe-in (aka shoo-in).

Thanks a lot to theoldgit and to Thanyaburi Mac. It sounds like it won't be a problem, and we can confirm it ahead of making plans with the steps that you mentioned.

There should be instructions on how to make an direct appointment with the embassy, bypassing TLS entirely including the service fee TLS charges for their services. How to contact the French directly should be on the (French embassy) website aswell since their are obligated to clearly explain people about the various procedures including the choice of giong through TLS or the embassy directly.
