Wow, what a surprise to find my name on the list. Am I the only woman? What were the criteria for nomination? I suppose mods can't be nominated, because Sheryl contributes way more than I do.

Some of my British friends have commented that it's a shame I can't be awarded a MBE for the welfare work I do here in Thailand to assist British nationals, but winning this award would be way more of an honor. (How's that for being tongue in cheek?)

Does this mean that members who are nominated are immune from ever getting banned from Thai Visa? Here I figured I'd log onto Thai Visa and find I was banned for something I posted, not nominated for Poster of the Year.

Mate, the difference (14 votes) is the number of people who have recorded a 'Null Vote' ... meaning basically they just wanted to have a look, but not vote. It looks neferous, but in reality, it's not.

I learnt that lesson last year.

What I am encouraged by is that apparently Thai Visa does have new software which records the the equivalent of the computer or machine number so that multiple accounts can be easily weeded out. Members do risk being banned over that.

But, in the end, it's a bit of fun.

It's a nice accolade to receive, but I feel a little sorry for those who actively chase it.
